THE STORY
Amy Kennedy is the founder of The Organising Bee. Here is her story.
With a supportive and caring husband and three sweet school aged daughters, I’m living right in the thick of it. This means I fully understand the challenges and obstacles faced when organising your home and time, whilst providing for the needs and demands of a young family.
I grew up in a family home where doing activities for pleasure and being there for each other was valued more highly than the physical appearance of our home. I lived surrounded by an abundance of books, craft materials and paper. My husband on the other hand, came from a home where everything was immaculate. Needless to say, we had a steep learning curve when we set up a home together!

THE BACKGROUND
I’ve learned, and can teach you, that minimising clutter in your home can help relieve anxiety, stress and can create a feeling of calm. I honestly didn’t realise it was affecting my mood and general wellbeing until I was no longer living surrounded by clutter. My husband has learned that an untidy space doesn’t always represent disorganisation. In fact, untidy people are often very organised people. We all have different ways of processing information and our homes are often reflective of this.
My professional background is in advertising and marketing communications. Whilst I enjoyed the strategy and challenge of marketing for big business in Australia, I was becoming very disheartened about pushing goods onto consumers that they really didn’t need, contributing to excess consumption. I had a drive to do something that truly added value to the lives of others. I was learning that my new sense of organisation was natural to me, but foreign to others. I had a desire to provide a service to others that was truly needed and would contribute to positive change in their lives. So The Organising Bee was born in 2015.
I thrive on order and routine and get a buzz out of helping others and giving back to my local community. With training and qualifications, I now devote my time to sharing my organisation skills and the benefits of a living a clutter free lifestyle to families seeking life balance. In my spare time, you’ll find me hugging a good coffee with a good book or perusing the pages of my favourite magazine, Home Beautiful.
